My mother has macular degeneration and is losing her eyesight. On a regular basis, she manages to accidentally hit a random button and then cannot get her TV and/or surround receiver to work right.

I need either:

1) a big button remote, as SIMPLE as possible (few buttons as possible) that can be toggled between TV and receiver,

-OR-

2) two separate remotes, one for each.

Believe me, the simpler the better. If she accidentally pushes a wrong button, it means a trip over there to fix it!

TV is a rather common brand (I can update tomorrow when I see her).

Receiver is an Insignia (Best Buy home brand).

I will be eternally grateful if the collective wisdom can point me in the right direction!!!

Also disconnect the receiver and get a sound bar if you want to keep things simple.

OP said "simple as possible", in case you can't read. I guess you can't fix stupid.

If dementia is a component of this drama, "simple" will take on more dimensions because there will be issues with pointing the wrong end toward the equipment and the cellphone and remote will become interchangeable.

I like the soundbar approach or simply use the TV's own speakers because either approach is transparent to the operator.

Having tried the (Chunghop) jumbo remote route with my mother, who also has macular degeneration, I would agree that simple as possible is most definitely the way to go.

No you can't, you're proving that with every post.

It's kgossen's favorite model.
