Hi,
I bought the Sony STR-DB840 used, without a remote a while back and now I'm trying to find a remote that will work. Should any universal remote work or do I need to buy a special one? I just want to be able to turn it on/off and adjust volume.
Any help would be great!

From the Sony website it appears that the Sony STR-DB840 requires the RM-LP204 remote. Here is the link to the Sony website on this receiver: [Link: esupport.sony.com]You can find a replacement remote for sale via eBay or other replacement remote shops.
