As the title says, I need to replace the woefully inadequate, cheap and not even completely lighted remote that came supplied with the 5010. I dont need it to control anything other than the 5010 receiver.

Ideally, an easy to use touch screen remote would be my preference, but I'm not willing to spend more than $200.00, and would prefer less ($100-150.00). I had planned to use a nice, available iPad app for this purpose, but the receiver does not support Air Play, and requires a hard wired network ethernet connection, which is not possible given the location of the router in my home.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

IO Gear GWU627 Wireless Bridge $45 retail will turn the receiver into wireless.

The Onkyo app is free but not super reliable for iOS or Android.

Try the Pro Control Remote PRO24r which retails for around $250

You will have to have it programmed by a dealer.
