I just upgraded my 26” LG tv to a 39” RCA. The problem is that my remote (1056B01 Atlas B01) no longer can switch inputs. I push the button and the input options come up, but I can’t switch to anything. I can control the power, volume and channels, but not the inputs. I went out a bought a RCA universal 5 device remote (Model#: RCRP05BR) that’s almost identical to my atlas digital cable remote and I have the same problem; everything works except the input function.
Does anybody know of a remote that:
the input function works
it has option for picture in picture
it allows for recording, and pausing live tv (basically similar to the atlas)
Not sure if it matters but I use my inputs to switch b/t my PC, ps3, hdtv and wii.

I'm sure we can make either remote work, but we need a clearer idea of what you're trying to do, and what doesn't work.

What setup code are you using?  Do get the TV signal from air or from cable/satellite provider?

Do you mean that the pressing input brings up a menu that lists the various inputs, but that you can't use the cursor keys to highlight one of the items in the list?  Or you can highlight an item, but the OK or Select button doesn't switch the inputs?

If you have the original RCA remote, how does you change inputs using it?

Basically, if you can describe how the TV is supposed to work, we'll be able to make the remote send the correct signals.

I used the code from the RCA tv manual, 0178. The codes from the Atlas remote manual and the RCA website don't work. I have digital cable provided by Suddenlink.

With the original remote, I press input and source options come up and I can use the up/down arrow to highlight and press enter to select. With the Atlas remote from Suddenlink, I can press video source and it brings up the menu with the input options, but I can't highlight anything.

I'm not sure if I understand the symptoms correctly, but assuming that you can control many functions on the TV using setup code TV 0178, try the following setup codes to try to highlight the menu button:  1423, 1331, 0030, and 1758.

Use  the RCRP05B for the tests.  If a given setup code doesn't corectly send the input command, use the OEM or Atlas remote to get into the menu, and then see if the arrow keys and OK key work using the RCRP05B.

If we find any setup code that can successfully highlight the menu items (and select), even though that setup code doesn't control other TV functions, we'll be able to program the remote to send all the correct signals.

If none of  the setup code can send the cursor functions, then you still have two options.
1) The RCRP05B is a learning remote, and you can teach the OEM cursor commands to it.

Or,

2) There are only 256 possible remote codes, and we can tell you how to try all 256.

Ok, first let me say thanks for the help. The 1423 code worked perfectly on the RCRP05B remote so I'm happy.

I decided to try the same code on the Atlas, but it only partially worked. I was able to get to the input menu and highlight the different options, but pressing the enter button didn't work. When I tried using the other codes, I couldn't even bring up the input menu.

I really want to get my Atlas working and return the RCRP05B to the store. Code 1423 felt like a step closer; is there anything else to try with the Atlas? If not, I'm happy with the RCRP05B, it only cost like $16.

Sure, the reason that I had you use the RCRP05B is that it needed one less step than the Atlas.  The Atlas, as delivered, employs a feature called Channel Lock.  The idea is that even when the remote is in TV mode, the user actually wants the digit buttons and channel up/down to be sent to the cable box.  If you try the Atlas in TV mode, you should notice that pressing the digit buttons will cause the Cable button to light, because the remote is sending those signals to the cable box.  The same will be true of the OK button.

You can manually program the OK/Select button so that it is sent to the TV.

Use EFC = 00164.
1) Press TV
2) Press Setup until 2 blinks
3) Enter 994  (2 blinks)
4) Press Setup briefly
5) Enter 00164
6) Press OK/Select button

The Atlas shouild blink twice.

You can see this procedure and others in the 9XX instructions.

Got another TV, a 32LB30RQ, and having same problem in getting my atlas remote to move up or down to select an input option. Tried to follow the directions given above but it wouldn't work this time, are there any other codes that I could try?

First, does any setup code control any function on the TV?  If so what is the setup code?  The correct EFCs depend on that.
