I have X10 devices throughout my house and they all work fine. I tried putting a socket rocket in my over the range vent light and nothing. I tried all of the outlets in the kitchen with the socket rocket and lamp, they all work fine. Its a simple vent with a fan and incandesent lamp with a on/off switch. What would be preventing this one light not to work with X10?

Not trying to be a smart ass here but did you check the switch on the hood to make sure it is on? Sometimes it is the obvious.

Yes Ed it was on, I even went back and tried installing the socket rocket again today and still no go on that one light. The same circuit breaker that controls that vent light controls the outlets next to it and it works there, this is bugging me. Thanks

TRY IT WITH YOUR DRYER ON. IF THERE IS A DUAL PHASE PROBLEM, THE DRYER (SINCE IT IS ON 220V) WILL CONNECT BOTH PHASES OF YOUR HOME. IF IT WORKS THEN YOU MAY NEED A PHASE COUPLER (XPCP)

Try this to eliminate the socket rocket as the problem. Buy a screw in outlet for the hood light plug a lamp hooked up to a regular lamp module into the screw in outlet and then see if you can control that. Obviously not a permanent solution but it will check to see if signals are getting through.
