Are you using your PCS wall switches to their maximum potential? Did you know that you can create up to 16 lighting scenes in your home using the new PCS switches?

An lighting scene (LS) can be defined to include any of the PCS switches (wall and plug-in type for lamps). The lighting scenes allow one X-10 command (sent via your Pronto) to immediately turn on an infinite amount of lights to predetermined light levels, using a predetermined ramp rate that can be customized for each light.

For example, you can create a "theater scene" that can be triggered by one X-10 command (e.g. B-1 ON). You could create a panel in your CCF file for called "Scenes" and create a button in that scene called "Theater Lighting". Or you could just incoporate the X-10 command (B-1 ON) in your existing macro for turning on your AV equipment. When you press that button on your Pronto, all the PCS products will immediately ramp up or down to a predetermined level at a predermined rate. This really is immediate response because only 1 X-10 command is being sent and all your switches/modules are reacting to it at the same time. You might want to have some lights ramp at a 3 second rate, but might want others to ramp at a 15 second rate. You can actually set a ramp rate for as long as 13 minutes if you like. What's nice is that the ramp rates you program for Scene 1, can be different for Scene 2, and Scene 3, etc. You also have direct control of a single light and the ramp rate can be set for that also (the default is 3 seconds).

We are an authorized dealer of PCS products and therefore are very familiar with their capabilities and programming requirements. There are also other programmable features that the PCS products offer that can help cut through AC line noise by changing the sensitivity of the circuitry.

If you would like to set up some lighting scenes in your home using PCS products, please send us an e-mail (or visit our web site for additional contact information) and we can supply you with the products you need, and the programming instructions. We can also offer you tips on designing lighting scenes for your home (e.g., separating housecodes for scenes vs. direct control addressing.).
