If you're dying to find out how I do these colors...

Go to http://www.europa.com/~rc/cfazer/ where you will find a program called Color Fazer.

I see someone figured out a bit of HTML... let's keep it to useful purposes, eh? (Hint hint Chris!)

Sorry Daniel and everyone else who has to weed through my garbage I posted today. I shouldn’t have used the site for experimenting. I just had to try to find out how to do it, what’s so bad is I still don’t know…DUH. Trial and error is always the best teacher for me. Sorry it was the visitors of Remote Central who paid the price for my mistakes. I will think before I do stupid things like that again.

Once again, I am sorry,

It took a bit of time but I removed it... HTML will work the same in here as it will on any page. Basically, <A HREF="http://www.microsoft.com">http://www.microsoft.com </A>. If you forget the http:// part your browser treats it as a page somewhere on this site. If you forget the quotes, it won't work. If you leave off the closing </A> the whole page will become a link.

However, I'm working on forum code that can auto-link all http:// addresses... it seems to be working OK, but I want to test it for a while first.

The reason I tried so hard was because I try to help a lot of people on the X-10 chat. I thought this would be an easy way to help people find items they were looking for and to link them up with tech support. I once again appoligize for the work I caused you and for making a mess of your site. I will stick to answers and questions...not trying to be a web page designer.

I'm probably the instigator for all this. My apologies as well.

But being an active participator here at Remote Central's X-10 Chat, we (ESPECIALLY ME) should probably chill out with the excessive HTML code before we lose the privilege of posting here.

I'm sure Daniel won't mind embedded links to relevant sites or email addresses.

As I mentioned, I'm working on code that can auto-link web addresses - meaning you won't need to bother with the A HREF part. For email addresses, just click on the little envelope next to your name. For other email addresses, I'm not sure a filter can be made to work automatically with them.

Daniel,
I did some research today and here is the deal. You can do an e-mail by replacing the (http) with (mailto) I also figured out how do the links so no more garbage. If this doesn't work I will jump off a cliff. Again I am sorry for yesterday!

Sorry about the name, I didn't mean that, I cut and pasted and figured it would work. Anyway the "mailto" part works for future reference!

P.S. Fix the name and I'll send you a new pronto charger and battery for free as a way to say sorry (if you want)!

Yeah, I've disabled HTML support in names or email addresses. It's best that way. HTML is only allowed in titles and the main text.

I've just added the new forum code that should take any web addresses and automatically make them clickable. This cannot be done on email addresses since it's too CPU intensive to try and pick them out of the rest of the text.

Hmm, speaking of email I seem to have linking to that working as well... http://www.remotecentral.com (dtonks@sunstorm.com), none of that was coded manually. All automatic.
