I've had an alarm system that uses the X-10 which allows me to turn on and off lights and the alarm from a remote phone.(usually my cell phone.) But since I started using the Bell Atlantic Voice Mail service as opposed to my home unit answering machine I cannot overide the Bell system to enter into the X-10--Any ideas

Once you enter the mailbox, you are probally no longer connected to your phone line but you are connected to Bell Atlantics, kinda like call transfer (just guessing). I would say you will need to get another phone line or use a standard answering machine. The only other idea would be to disable the answering service before you called to issue commands to your house.
