I intend to purchase the 4040 IR X-10 Command Console with 2 Lamp Modules and operate it with the Pronto and the X-10 codes I find here. Do I still need the small Tranceiver Module with the Antenna to receive and send the signal from the Command Console to the Lamp Module, or does the Command Console send directly to the Lamp Modules?

No, you don't need any additional devices. The 4040 sends the X10 signals for you through the existing electrical wiring.

One other question. Do You think the 4040 IR Command Console is plugged into a surge protector it will still send the signal to the lamp modules properly?

Surge protectors and X-10 signals don't get along too well. The surge protector will attenuate the X-10 signal but it may still work. Your best bet is to plug X-10 receivers, transceivers, and transmitters directly into a wall receptacle and not a surge protector.

Thanks Robert for the info, I'll test it plugged in the surge protector after I test it connected directly into the wall. That way I'll know if its possible. I just like protecting my equiptment, even if its not exspensive. This is how I can afford my little pleasantries, by preventing purchases of the same thing over. :)
