Love the T2i but having issues. Last 5 have all died within a week or so of original installation.

Simply removing the battery and reinserting it clears it up. After doing that once, they typically last a few more months before going dead again.

RTI has replaced a board in one of them but generally claims nobody else is having that problem. Another one was totally replaced under warranty. It lasted 5 days before dying again. We had to refund that customer on the remote. He's been an RTI customer of ours since the original T1 days.

I was just wondering if we were just jinxed or not.

I've been programming RTI products since they first started in business and have always been very happy with them, but this is starting to gain us some pretty hot customers.

There is a big thread on the RTI forum about the reliability of these remotes. After shying away from RTI for several years I tried a couple of these remotes. I had similar issues you are having and had to walk away again. Such great potential...

I think the unofficial reason for the issues is under powered CPU in the T2-I remotes.
They should discontinue it and bring the cost of the T2-X down.

They have a three year warranty on their remotes. Not sure how many companies offer that. I heard that they are close to figuring out the problem with these and they are not discontinuing it. You should use the Pro.Z remote which is now part of RTI. In the meantime, you have three years to return defective product, but replace it with something else for now. I have had a T2x now since it hit the market and it has been perfect for me.
