Have a system with a brand new T2i. Upgraded to current firmware and now the remote consistently locks up. Will work for about 30 minutes then locks up. Does not lock up at same point. One time you will just be changing volume and bingo, remote totally freezes and only way to unlock is to pull battery.

Anyone else having issues with these remotes. Have a couple jobs doing same thing and it is starting to get old. I seem lately to be having many issues with RTI and am going to start looking at other brands.

Only done a couple T2i's. Done a fair few more T2x's though and not had any issues. Not what you want to hear.

I think maybe first to look at is communication, are they 433, zigbee or wifi?

They are ZigBee. They do not just quite communicating, they completely lock up. Only way to clear out is remove battery. I tried to resend program but will not recognize remote.

Cannot be programming as one system that locked up, the remote is a replacement to one that has been working for a year but touchscreen went bad.

If I remember correctly you may have to reload the program on your remote after you have updated the firmware to correct the lock up issue. I had the same issue at a customers house recently and called RTI.

Have the same problem with some of my clients' that have the T2i. We have been slowly replacing them with the, more stable I think, T2x. Called tech support on this issue and to unfreeze them you have to reset the remote.

I believe you have to hit the 'OK' and the backlight button on the bottom at the same time. Keep them down for about 20sec and then the remote will turn off. Hold down the same two buttons to turn the remote back on.

There is also a limit to the number of characters/letters you can place on a button that is active or inactive. I believe the number of characters that you can place on a button is 15 or less. This information was given to me by RTI tech support.

Hope this helps
