Uhhhh, Bob... now that you've quoted his post, he cannot change it by removing the link from this thread if he wants to. He now has to depend on you to take the time to come back here and remove it. It would have been better for you to break the link while posting it!

If English is his second language, wouldn't it help him to spell apologize correctly so he can look it up? And maybe spell out wtf or use a nicer term that you're willing to write out?

Yabba,
you caused a bunch of this by hiding behind the name Yabba, which, for all we know, is part of a Fred Flintstone yell -- we don't know what it means to you. You don't say where you're from, and your profile is basically empty. How do we know whom we're helping?

You must really be bored critiquing a post over a month old. Obviously he figured out what WTF stands for. Should I include a Wikipedia link for acronyms next time??

OK Annoyed, I'll bite....What do you want your system to do that an RTI system could not pull off?

BTW, the word "robust" has never come out of my mouth when talking about Logitech product, unless it was preceded by "not".

I asked this also along with one or two other people and yabba never responded. I guess hes given up on this.

And to eddie gilman, im not sure how him using yabba as a user name instead of his real name makes it any harder to help him. You are one of very few using your real name.. People get help on this forum all the time regardless of what their user name is...

The etymology of my nick is a little different: Yabba otherwise Jabba written by "Y".

I just wanted to help, but I met with the rude behavior of some of the members of the forum, that's all.
I'm used: Pronto Classic; Pronto Pro, Pronto Pro NG Nevo SL and now Pronto 9400 :)

Since youve made a presence i will ask again.

What did other rti dealers say cant be done? Please explain to me what it is you are looking for in this system, once we determine that it can be done, and aafe bet it can, we could try to work out a way for this to get done for you. Id program abd send it to an authorized dealer to let them dump in and test..

Is it really necessary for some of you to be so rude?! I think his point becomes clear after reading some of your posts. After reading this thread, I would program what he needs for no cost just like the ralliart329 replied. What is the point of flaming him, to get more business for yourselves? Please...what is the chance of that happening now. Sales is about pleasing the customer not running him off. JMHFO

Id love to no what NO DEALER CAN DO... email me at alex10182002@yahoo.com and let me know. If the dealer in your area cant do what you want, ill do it and send them the file so they can get you setup. I program for a number of AUTHORIZED dealers who dont have the time or just are not capable of programming larger and more complex systems.

I finally got a relationship going with RTI and a dealer - 1,700 miles away, LOL!

The setup involves custom equipment and controllers (Arduino , FTW!). Controlling curtains, cameras, 4x A/Cs, alarms, tracking two cars, locating cell phones, and operating a custom database of movies and TV shows, along with a 300disc DVD player, huge HDTV, custom sound system, and more...

It works beautifully now - the remote failed after a year, but RTI had no qualms replacing it, so quite pleased with that. Now just to add a Samsung BD-F7500 when I fly back for Christmas...

To paraphrase Ian Malcolm from Jurassic Park:

"Yeah, yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could download ID without a dealer account that they didn't stop to think if they should."

Hello,

I'm looking for someone to make some minor changes to my rti file. Can anyone of you help me out with this? I am running version 9. The software is done with a later version.

When you download the software from an unauthorized site, it is STEALING, and you are a thief. The only place you can get the software legally is from RTI.

It's easier to just steal it off the internet than to pay to have your remote programmed, but you would rather do it the easy way. When you go to the grocery store and get a cart full of groceries, do you just walk out without paying for them? After all, that would be easier than waiting in line to pay for them. No, you stop and pay for them because you don't want to get arrested and goto jail.

The only reason you feel it's OK to take software, and I'm sure movies and music, online illegally, is because you don't fear getting punished for your actions. The crime is the same, but the punishment is not.

With those groceries, I would take them through the self check-out and pay making them mine, I may not be able to cook all of them correctly but I still paid for them and should be able to do what I want with them within my home for personal use.

I paid for the RTI license and the equipment, I shouldn’t have to be dependent on a third party any time some little problem needs to be fixed or something needs to be changed. If I don’t have the skills/understanding to correct the problem then that is a whole other scenario. But getting access to the software that is capable of programming the RTI equipment I legally own should not be so challenging and is the focus of this post. The software does no good without any cooresponding equipment. So I’m not sure what set you off, but no one said “I stole a bunch of RTI equipment and now I want access to the software to program it.”

So you contacted RTI directly and they said what?

So when you researched RTI and discovered that the software was NOT available, why did you buy the gear?

The reason they don't give it out is most consumers "think" they can program it but really just mess it up and blame the product, not their lack of skills. I've been sent files from consumers and am amazed anything worked at all. This leads to hours of wasted support calls and bad reviews of their products.

I didn't take a course and immediately know how to program, it took a lot of time and many remotes to learn the tricks and techniques to properly program a system that works reliably all the time.
