I have a Sony XBR53 TV, Sony DVD, NAD Receiver, JVC VCR. The problem is finding a suitable remote. The salesman sold me a SL9000 which I used for awhile but found I was going to have stickers all over the remote identifing buttons. He then let me try the Sony AV2000 but I find it is very limited, for example I can only program about 20% of the original TV remotes commands. It looks like I will have to spend the bucks on a Pronto or Take Control. Does anyone have a similar system and can you recommend a remote for me. I have read reviews for both Pronto and Take Control but I wud like a consumers opinion. Thanking you in advance.

Ray...

I've never touched a Take Control. I have a Pronto but had tried several One-4-all and similar remotes before. I am deliriously happy with the pronto. Even my WIFE likes it. It controls everything that knows IR in my house, and I've recently added X10 control from my Pronto to control the lights. You can add or delete any button from your original remotes you want. You can give them specific names, custom bitmapped graphics, etc. You can impart yours with your own Style and sense of functionality. At $300+ it's kind of hard to make the Pronto Plunge, but I've never regretted it.
