In using my Directv remote to adjust the volume for a tv program there is a short picture and sound loss. I am at a loss as well as my techie neighbor. Anyone out there who can help? We have a Directv HR24-200 DVR/HD receiver and Yamaha RXV373? The TV is a Sony Bravia.

Any help is appreciated.

Which volume is being controlled? Is it the receiver or the TV? Also, how is everything connected - HDMI?

A quick guess would be to ensure that HDMI CEC is disabled.
