Truth be told - I'm not an installer - but did buy my system from an authorized dealer. I enjoy doing these kinds of things. He hasn't been able to help and NUVO's tech support indicated I shouldn't have an issue. Just hook it up.
Long story short - I was trying to hook up two NV-I8GMS units instead of adding the GX (still only 6 sources as per Nuvo's information). Bought the configurator (authorized dealer) and set-up all the zones. Connected the additional cables required. Just get the 8 zones to function.
Anyone ever try this arrangement?
Thanks people !

NuVo's tech support is one of the best in the industry, and if they weren't able to help you then there isn't much chance any of us here can do any better.
More information than just "connected the additional cables required" is needed before any help can be attempted.

If you are still curious....Nuvo did a 180 on me and says only the expansion unit will work.
