I'm a home theater newb with an old tv and a new receiver. The Yamaha neoHD 700 receiver uses IR blasters to control other devices. This works fine for everything but my TV. No matter where I place the IR blaster receiver on the TV, the IR blaster doesn't seem to work. I know this is an older TV, but does anybody know where I can place the IR blaster node?

A lot of the old RPTVs had the IR sensor inside the screen, leaving no easy place to place in IR emitter. Some manufacturers put IR ports on the back of these sets so you can do exactly what you are trying to do. Unfortunately, this model doesn't have one, sorry.
