I am considering buying either the Monitor Audio Silver RX-8 or PSB Image T6 main speakers for use with my Yamaha RX-V3900. Does anyone have any opinions or experiences with either of these speakers?
No store around here carries both, so I have not heard them side by side, but going store to store, I don't hear a huge difference. The Monitors are more expensive, but have a real wood veneer cabinet, the PSB is vinyl covered.
I have also listened to Klipsh (don't like them--blaring), Magnepan (too harsh), and B&W (fine, but a bit overpriced).
I will also be purchasing matching center and surround channel speakers of the same brand when I decide which ones to buy.
I use them mostly for home theatre, but I want a big improvement in music over my current 20 year old Infinity's.

I do believe the Monitor bronze is the same drivers as the silvers but they use a cheaper vinyl wrapped cabinet.
I'd go for the Monitors

Have you thought of the PSB Imagine or even Synchrony? I haven't heard any of the Monitor Audio speakers, but the Imagine's sound ( and look ) very good.
