I am looking at getting a good HT system. My old one is still good, but outdated. The Denon AVR-2000 was fantastic in it's day, but it is 13 yrs old and won't handle anything beyond Dolby. I have 2 main speakers (Old Hafler) that are still going strong, but I don't know about timbre matching to them. So I am looking to upgrade. I'll have ~2,000 - 2500 to play with. I really like Denon and am seriously considering the first purchase to be a Denon AVR-2805. That would leave me in the ballpark of $1500 for a 5.1 set of speakers.

Oh, by the way, would it be better to go 6.1 off the bat, or get 5.1 and hold off on the 6th until more soundtracks use it?

has anyone heard of Aperion Audio Systems?

are these systems any good?
