Ok, I finally decided to go with the Yamaha Receiver RX-V2500.
One question - If i output audio to Zone 2, will i also get the audio thru Zone 1 or do the 2 zones have different volume controls or even different sources?

IE could my wife listen to music in ZOne 2 whilst I am watching a DVD in Zone 1?

All thoughts greatly appreciated

Mike

Zone 2 source and volume is seperate from zone 1. So, yes you can.

Zone 2 is purely an analog signal path, so if you only connect digital cables, you won't get audio in zone 2. Just install garden variety analog cables along with the digital ones.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

NO. You MUST use Monster cables for this, and a super smoker, I mean, surge protector, otherwise, the ac voltage will become directional!

Just kidding! :)

It is true that the Z2 is analog, though.

Hmm. At my house, garden variety means homemade Canare LS77 RG-6 with matching conductors. Somewhat better than most Monster stuff, but less than $10 each.
