Does any one know why none of my universal remotes work or can even learn any commands from my new sony reciever?
Also, can anyone suggest a good universal remote that can handle the requirements of the new sony recievers?

There is no reason a learning remote can't learn the new AV2 codeset. Saying that, if you want any universal remote to control your receiver, you need to change the codeset it responds to, see this thread.
