After a brief but nasty breakup with my current girlfriend I was infomred by authorities that since my theater system was paid for out of a joint checking account she had a legal claim to it and could not be removed from premises without a court ruling. Well knowing how courts work now a days I decided to just go ahead and buy new equipment. my old system consisted of paradigm speakers and a jvc receiver. the new equipment i am looking at is a Pioneer elite receiver and the speakers is where i am drawing a blank. My friend is in the process of becoming a theater dealer and has access to the jamo line and said they would be a good comparison to the paradigm. I have never personally heard jamo speakers and was wondering if anyone had any input good or bad about the line. the series I am looking at is the E8 line. Sorry i forget the line of paradigm that I had but it was such an old set that I don't recall the model numbers from them. also the Jamo series offers a 10 inch sub in that series. In my experience of installing Theater i havent come across many 10 inch subs that will deliver enough bass for that size of speaker package.

I have limited experience with Jamo. I have installed a few systems that the client already had. They sounded OK, but Paridigm sounded alot better to me! I've only sold Paridigm for 5 years, so I don't know how your "old" ones would compare to the "new" Jamo's.
Every day is a good day.......some are just better than others!

Proud to say that my property is protected by a high speed wireless device!

We have been a Jamo dealer for 6 years. They make speakers ranging from 99.99 to 10k systems. They manufacture over three hundred diffrent modesl of speakers per year. They are a six sigma company commited to quality control. They are the second largest speaker manufacturer in the world (Sales volume, first is harmon int'l). As for the speakers, you ge what you pay for. I have heard their entire line of speakers, some i was impressed other i was not. The E8 series is a good starting point. the D4, D5, and D8 is where it is at. We use the E8 speakers as our entry level speakers. I am currently using the E850's with a velodyne 12" servo. I have had great results. I would suggest listening to them a a Jamo dealer. We also sell KEF, and Polk, two other great speaker brands. The KEF Crestra line has a good bang for the buck.

You might want to look into speakers from a company called Ascend Acoustics...http://ascendacoustics.com/

They are located in Los Angeles and sell via internet only (I know...."buy speakers over the internet???am I crazy???) I thought the same thing when I first stumbled on these but they offer a 30 day, no questions asked, full refund guarantee, a 5 year warranty and their customer service is fantastic (my 6 year old poked a hole in one of the drivers a few months after I got mine. I emailed the company asking how I could get a replacement, got a reply the same day and received a new driver 3 days later at no charge).

I listened to MANY very high end speakers brfore getting these, had my doubts (many) when I ordered them but when I set them up and listened to them the sound quality both for audio and Home Theater, just blew away speakers costing many times more.

Thay have package deals that include sub's from HSU (very highly rated).

You might also read some of the consumer reviews on their speakers at ecoustics.com...[Link: ecoustics.com]

IMHO, one of the best speakers values out there. Hope this helps

By the way...I work for IBM, not Ascend.
