I really need some help in choosing the right remotes for 3 rooms. Since I need 3 remotes with probably 2 of them requiring RF capabilities I would like to get the biggest bang for right price. All 3 remotes do not have to be the same. I have read many reviews by Daniel and tons of post. I am so over loaded with data that I can't make up my mind. Maybe if I mentioned what equipment I have in each room and what function I would like the remotes to perform I can get some good recommendations.

Family Room
60" Mitsubishi TV
TIVO / SAT receiver combo by DIRECTV
Cable
Denon 3803 Reciever
2 Sony DVP-CS777ES Mega changers
Escient DVDM-100 (This is a DVD & music manager that controls the 2 Sony Mega DVD changers)

Bonus Room
32" TV
SAT receiver
Single DVD player
VCR player
Philips Audio/Video Switchbox With RF Modulator
Sound and video signals from Escient in family room is also sent to TV
NOTE: Plan to add a Denon receiver in room along with speakers and maybe install
DLP with screen sometime next year.

Master Bedroom
TV
SAT receiver
Radio Shack A/B switch
Sound and video signals from Escient in family room is also sent to TV

The remotes that will be in the bonus room and master bedroom will probably have to be RF to control the Escient which is in the family room.
Right now I am looking for a setup which will not confuse the heck out of my wife who is non-technical. I have an electrical engineering degree and have connected all of the above equipment myself so I don't expect to have too much problem with the most advanced remotes. My wife on the other hand probably need 1 push macro buttons that say Watch TV or Watch DVD, Listen to Music, etc. Any help would be approciated.

Thanks,
Bigdm

What is your budget? Also if you need RF you can get Radio Shack transmitters. They look like small pyramids that send signals to other rooms. Any remote that has IR will work with this. To me any universal remote will work. Just check what each remote offers, if it is what you want and of course how much you want to pay. Also check the ease of use and programming especially if you are not adapt, impatience or if you like to tinker. So many possibilities, none can be narrowed down to just one. Look at the net and you probably can check the remotes on line! This site has reviews check that out too.

Sorry, I double posted in the installers forum. I felt that I would get better response in that forum since they have to make these type of decisions everyday.

Check out the Home Theater Master MX-800/850. Alternately, if you want more power and "wow factor", check out the MX-3000 color touchscreen. It can control up to 255 devices.

They have the RF capabilities you're looking for. In this case, the RF is used to send a signal to a base station receiver, which then repeats IR commands to the components via flashers or a frontal blaster.
