I have brand new Sony DVD Player (model DVP-NC875V) with the audio plugged into a new Denon AVR-1905 receiver with an optical cable. It plays sound fine, but I cant get it to play in Dolby Digital or DTS (The movies are Dolby or DTS). I have my hdtv cable plugged into the Denon also via a different optical cable and it plays Dolby Digital just fine. I have switched the cables around to make sure it wasn't that and no change.

Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks a lot.
Bryan

Go into the menu and turn on the options...Sony has them turned off as the default

PRess the display button, cursor to the breifcase, press the enter button. Cursor over to the right to the audio section. Cursor down to Dolby Digital, Turn it to Bitstream, and Turn the DTS on. You might just have ON/OFF available for your Dolby Digital.
