Hello all,
Do any of you know of a composite to component converter? If so, by whom?
Thanks,

Yes, but you can buy an AV amp that will do it for the same price (eg ARCAM AVR300) [Link: keene.co.uk]

Tee, If you could tell us what your project is and what you need a converter for, we might be able to find a cheaper solution for you.

I am trying to test NTSC sourced video and have a component video tester and would like to use this tester to do NTSC video. Any help would be appreciated.

If you don't have the SD option, then converting (decoding) composite to component for measurement won't yeild accurate results.

I have it installed. The Tek guys suggested I should upconvert the signal. I'm assuming you have experience with using this equipment? Any tips would be helpful....My first set top box. ; )

Isn't there noticable signal degradation using one of these?

If you 'upconvert', how do you know if the 'upconvertor' is perfect? What signal would you be you testing? the original or a transcoded version?

The transcoded version. As long as I can characterize the transcoded version, the testing of set-top boxes after that should fall in line considering some tolerances.

Try a Marantz VQ2400 - simple, inexpensive solution - about $350.

What is your definition of cheap?
I found a solution for around $500, that was cheap for me because the company bought it! ; )
