I need to put a new TV in my kitchen. The place the TV will go is 16 1/2 inches tall. Room to spare for a 13" TV (would like a larger screen), but to small for any 19" set I have seen.

Question: Is there any TV sets made that have screens somewhere between 13" and 19"?

That's a problem I had as well, but in this case I'm limited by height as it goes under a cabinet. Right now I'm using a Sony 14" stereo TV... the only thing comparible I've seen is made by Aiwa. It doesn't seem as if anyone makes anything between 14 and 19".

Daniel:

What is the model of your 14" Sony? Is the viewing area actually larger than the typical 13"?

My Sony is old-old-old, a 1986 model that still came with all the current frills (like OSD, RCA video-in, RCA audio out, headphone jack, built-in UHF/VHF splitter etc).

The 14" is the old measurement style before they made manufacturers list viewable screen size. So, it's technically a 13". The nice thing is the screen's so good you don't really notice how small it is. However the current problem is that no manufacturer makes a Stereo (ie. quality) 13" set save for Aiwa.
