Thanks for this thread... I feel like I'm on the right track. How about the STR-DA5200ES? I have done tons of research online and can not find the procedure for setting this receiver to AV1.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks,
Geary

I didn't find my system on the list (HT-DDW900 (STR-K900, RM-AAP013)), but based on the information posted for other systems, I poked around and found a procedure that worked for me.

On the receiver (STR-K900):
1. Press and hold the INPUT MODE button.
2. While holding the INPUT MODE button, press the Power (I/O) button.
3. Each time you do this, the command mode will toggle between AV1 and AV2.

On the remote (RM-AAP013):
1. Press VIDEO1 button (for AV1) or the VIDEO2 button (for AV2) while pressing the RM SET UP button
2. The RM SET UP button flashes once for AV1 or twice for AV2, then the command mode switches.

I have a Sony DAV-DX255 Home Theatre and a Dish Network VIP622 DVR, I would like to use the DVR remote (5.3 IR Remote) to control my home theater system. I've tried the sony remote codes and the remote scan, but nothing works. I've been searching high and low to find a solution. I've read on this site that I must change the control function from AV2, sony's default, to AV1, but don't know if that is possible with this model of sony home theater. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks DenY. That worked for my HT-DDW900 (STR-k900, RM-AAP013) too.

Den Y: Thank you for reporting this, and even more for typing it in the exact format I needed to add it to the thread. Sorry it took so long, but sometimes I forget that people also post in this thread.

Maustin: You missed the part about not posting questions in this thread. If you still need an answer, please post in the Sony Remotes Forum.

FYI:

The STR-DG600 comes with the AAP012 remote, which is the same remote documented for the HT-7000DH and HT-7550DH with STR-K7000. Tried the instructions, and worked as expected for this remote.

(edit) Also, at least for this remote, the procedures are not needed for the Sony AX4000 remote, it has the codes for AV2 receivers (4107 under the Sony brand.)

I know you just said not to post a ? but I'm goin gto anyway. I have two sony receivers in my system. I would really like to control both of them independantly... I've looked and it seems that my receiver is the only one ever made that is not listed in your list... :( It is the STR-DE835. I've tried a couple different things and it doesn't seem taht Av1 av2 is selectable on this model. Can you confirm? For now I just manually unplug and re-plug in the other unit when I want to use it - and when I adjust volume, both receivers volume is adjusted simultaneously... Any help appreciated.

I have found no reference that would allow this model to be able to switch between AV1 or AV2

Great thread!
Thanks to Ron and all who provide updates.
I used the STR-DG1000 procedure on my new STR-DA3200ES (RM-AAL003) and it worked perfectly. I was then able to program my AV-3000 to control everything.

The procedure is in the owner's manual (page 40), but I had overlooked it several times.
A quick search here fixed me right up.

Thanks again!
Tom

P.S. The DA-3200 sounds great!

Just got a HR20-700S. Logitech 676 won't dance and now I can't get the Sony STR-DG600 code to enter in to the HR20 Remote AV1 - Any solution or codes to try. What remote will be best for Sam HL-85687W, Sony STR-DG600, HR20-700S and Pan DVD-S27U?

Thanks in advance

If its still set to AV2, then the code yo use is 31758. To get the volume: First there has to be a tv code programmed to the tv device, or the volume keys won't work. then:

1. av1 or av2
2. press and hold MUTE & SELECT for two blinks
3. enter 9 9 3
4. press VOL UP

You should post a new thread for this question since it is not related to the topic of this thread.

For the Sony STR-DG710:

On the Receiver:

1. Turn off receiver
2. Press and hold the INPUT button
3. Press the power button to toggle AV modes

Which was the same as the instructions for the STR-DA1000ES, STR-DA2000ES, STR-DA3000ES, STR-DA3100ES, STR-DA5000ES, STR-DA9000ES, STR-DB790, STR-DB795 .
