I was wondering if anyone has setup a PC to be a Digital VCR?
I have an ATI All-in-wonder Pro in my PC which enables me to watch/record/play TV on my computer monitor or through my TV. Its probably not too much of strech to get some type of IR device and use my pronto to control the PC's playback and record function. Recording and playing back digitally should be better than with tape. Fast forward, commerical skips etc should be really fast.
Any Comments????

If you've ever tried recording, the amount of space required using the Pro board is enormous. You get very little recording time in 1 gig, and you can only get 320x240 at 30fps. For this purpose the All In Wonder 128 would be much better... 640x480 MPEG. I'm not sure how well your idea would work tough with existing hardware/software.
