I may have a solution for the CTV problem. Try
a program called Beyond TV 4 by Snapstream Media.

I had exactly the same problem with my AverTVHD
A180. Neither the supplied Avermedia TV app nor
WatchHDTV could tune CTV but they both displayed
a high signal strength. I was part of the Beyond
TV 4 beta program and I filed a bug report with
them about the CTV problem and the clever folks
over there fixed it. My AverTVHD can now tune
in CTV using Beyond TV and as far I know the program
also supports the HDTV Wonder. Beyond TV has
a free trial so you might as well give it a try.

The Snapstream guys also let me know that the
first three programs in CTV's stream are not listed
in the TVCT (Terrestrial Virtual Channel Table)
which is why they can't be tuned. So it appears
that this is not a driver problem but an application
problem and CTV's broadcast stream is still a
bit messed up. Those of you with open issues
at ATI may want to pass along the info about the
TVCT so that they can fix their app or better
yet CTV should fix their stream.

Hope this helps.

Hey Mark,
thanks for the tip. I tried beyondtv free trial a few weeks ago and it gave me the same result. CFTO didn't even come up on the list of detected channels. Maybe I'll give it another shot later this week.

You can try adding it manually in the web administration section under settings->channels. For CTV use Physical=40, Major=9, Minor=1.

rbq: Thanks for mentioning the proppage.dll hint. I did a google on that and it popped up a lot of info. Can you post your graphedit graph for the HDTV Wonder?

Icewire,
I'm using the graph from the rage 3D page at this link:

It's the first one. If you get a chance read that whole thread on graphedit.

Boy that's funny! And yes it is true that they
are now selling in Toronto stores... Logic Computer,
Premier Computer Canada, PC Canada, PC Village,
Infonec... It's almost hard to find a store that
doesn't sell them. And the thing is I can only
find this card, no other one.

I think it is a driver issue, the hardware is
just fine. I just installed all the latest ATI
drivers and software and now I get audio on CTV,
but still a black screen. (In MMC 9.08)

I think I might open up a ticket too, can't hurt.
The more the better, maybe they will get the
message... everybody else should too :)

I've had a conversation that stretched out over a week (one day turnaround for each exchange) with a CSR at the ATI customer care web page.

The conclusion by ATI is that they're not going to do anything about the CTV problem.I told them that it doesn't look good for ATI that they're unwilling to do anything about the HDTV Wonder not working in the very city ATI's headquarters is located in. But they wouldn't budge, saying that they won't support the HDTV Wonder in Canada.

But the interesting part is this. There are some consultants I know who can fix this problem for ATI, but they're expensive. I suggested that ATI should at least offer them something like the Mozilla $500 bug bounty for their solution but ATI reviewed the information, said they'd note it, and decided not to act. However, they said they'd gladly accept the fix for free.

I guess that tells you what value ATI assigns to the HDTV Wonder market in Toronto. I'm very disappointed that ATI refuses to do anything about this bug.

The irony is that while ATI won't support the HDTV Wonder in Canada for the CTV problem, they nevertheless wanted someone in Toronto to support them to fix this problem and for free at that.

Hey Guys,
CFTO has been working with no problems at all in watchHDTV and Got all media since early this afternoon for me. In mmc I still only get audio.
I'm hoping that it's permanent and not a fluke! Anybody else try CFTO yet?
