I sure hope someone can help a Newbie. I have an older rear projection Samsung 53" (PCJ534), with 2 Component inputs on the rear. I am just getting into HDTV, and have a question. When I connect the Cable TV set top box ( HDTV Scientific Atlanta 8300HD) to the Component Input marked TV, I get a "No Connection" response when trying to change sources on the TV, and cannot get any picture. When I move the connection to the DVD Component in connections on the TV, it works great. Do I have a TV problem, or is this Pilot Error? Is this TV one that cannot accept both DVD and TV Component inputs at the same time?
Thanks for the help

Couple things to check:
* If there are two component inputs, only one might be able to handle anything higher than 480i (for instance are you using a progressive scan DVD player).
* Make sure the second "component" input isn't actually RGB (or maybe has an RGB switch somewhere).
* I can't find out much about your set, but I did read that it does NOT support 720p, just 480i, 480p and 1080i.

Thanks Daniel. You are right on the support of the resolutions. I played around some more today, and found a button on the original remote marked DTV. Pressing this button switches the TV input to the component inputs! Success. Not mentioned anywhere in the manual, but it works.
Thanks for the help.
