apparently no company can claim its possible, just because they dont want to get sued.
i was just wondering if anyone actualy tried using there codes and could confirm (or you are just positive itl work) that the 510 can be fully (or partily) controlable on a unaversal IR remote (or more specificly the Logitech Harmony 520 witch i might get)...

ALSO: will it be able to "learn" how to control my panasonic 2c sterio witch everything is hooked into? (i think its IR) OR will it work with the "platinum" UHF/IR remote dish supplied me with.

and some more: logitech also has an "xbox360" version of this remote. i will most likely be using my new 360 to play DVDs. from my understanding, the 360 uses RF, not IR (could this be what that extra $30 is all about?), so would I have to get the uglier version of the remote to play DVDs ony my 360?

just to recap, dish 510 with IR?;Panasonic sterio comtrolable with "learner" or "platinum";do i need the 360Hamony to play DVDs on 360.

I would really apreciate answers because im comming up on 8 remotes (with the addition of my Sceptre 37" HDTV & the 360) and even now i have to use 2 remotes just to use my system (no coffe table either, only a bed).

I just switched from Dish to Direct TV. I had the Dish 510 DVR (it's up for sale now) and I controlled it with my URC MX-500 and 700 with no problems at all.

Those codes are for one brand of universal remote, UEI, sold under one-for-all & radio shack. They only work receivers set unit code #1, using setup code SAT 0775 in the OFA/RS remote.

we didnt have any interferance with neighbors so i think my reciver is set to code 1 (although we also have a Dish... the one with 2 in one, i dont know if they would have to change me to code 2 for that reciver's remotes to work)...

i never knew every universal remote had a different set of codes for evey device. seems kindov pointless.... anyways, how would i go about finding the Dish510 code for a harmony520 (or any other universal remote for that matter) since no copmanys support using and universal remote with the 510, i dont think it would be listed in the code list, would it. is ther a website with all the "un supported" codes?

can i simply "learn" the commands from my platinum remote? mabee it sends out IR and UHF at the same time.... mabee not

the big one upstairs, the one with the "teaching" capability isnt the one i need to use a new remote for, but are the codes the same? could i simply use the "teaching" box to program the remote and then use that remote on my 510?
