Just wondering what network in other peoples cities/ town have the best picture in your oppinions? For me in Buffalo, NY I believe it to be the local CBS affiliate- WIVB- I think its the most reliable and strong signal. I have had no outages with this channel and it is always crisp and clear- I have had issues w/ outages and audio problems on WGRZ and FOX- 29-1.

CBS is probably most often the pick. Depends on the station, of course. But so far CBS has not done multicasting, so they usually have full bandwidth, giving a great picture. And they do a good job in production.

But multicasting is coming, that may be changing unfortunately.

Using football as the guide, CBS or ESPN is usually the best for me. CBS has faded a bit, not sure why. And ESPN is at the mercy of DirecTV, but is usually good on football night. I look for detail on officials' jerseys to see how good the PQ is. It's tougher to use TV shows for this, IMO, because there is more processing. Some scenes have been softened or altered intentionally. Live sports gives a better view of their capabilities.

Since upgrading my antenna I'm in favor of WNEDHD for shows. WIVBHD looks great for football, WUTVHD looks amazing for baseball. Most of the other shows I watch are on canadian station as I'm in toronto. when CTV broadcasts HD schow like CSI and Desperate housewives, I'm impressed. I just love the HD content I can get now. Its a gift and a curse however because when I'm watching TV somewhere on any yv running analog....It hurts me.
More digital content please

Buffalo CBS does multicast; they have a subchannel with UPN SD on it (and they also used to have a subchannel with a radar weather map, but it was removed).

The best OTA in Raleigh is WRAL-DT 5.1 (CBS) and WUNC-DT 4.1 PBS, then WRAZ-DT 50.1 (FOX)
I'm using a Channel Master 3022 antenna.

The best one in my neck of the woods is wear 3-1, the local pbs is up there as well 23-1.
It takes 2 to tango, but only one to be nice!,

For picture quality and hd content is 43-1 out of buffalo, pbs, although frequent, prolonged audio dropouts lately, as for football, I prefer the fox/abc hd format of 720P, but agree not much difference, you have to compare on sundays when both cbs and fox stations are carrying games simultaneously. aslo sometimes when wivb is carrying the bill's away games (I think) it does not seem to be in hd!!!

few weeks back I was able to pick up WB49 out of Buffalo with my sammy 451, but nothing since from 49, was I dreaming, or are they about to start hd broadcasting, and who's due to come on line in the Toronto area.

As it should be, since WRAL was doing HD from the start.
