a question for anyone that owns this set:
i recently puchased this set and got a hellofa deal but i'm noticing alot of horizontal scan lines. In my opinion, they shouldn't be there for the price paid. The best reference point I have is when watching Tommorrow Never Dies DVD. I believe it's Ch 1-3 when it first shows the ship (against a murky blue background).
I tried different cables, DVD players, & settings. I even hooked up all 3 of my DVD players to my 35" direct view to check the image quality. It was flawless on the 35".
if anyone can help or has suggestions let me know as i can return this for a different set (boy they'll love moving it downstairs)

The Pro-700HD had a known problem with noise generated by the line doubler. It mostly shows up on darker scenes. It cannot be fixed and Pioneer will not warranty any work on it for this problem. They designed it for HDTV, not NTSC (which includes DVD).
My recommendation: Trade it for a Pro-710HD. MUCH better set, excellent doubler, excellent picture on both NTSC and HDTV.
