I have a DTC-100 and have noticed that when I hit the info button the grey bars dissappear to reveal about an extra inch of picture that gets covered up when the bars come back. I don't mind the bars, but I don't like the idea that they are covering part of the actual picture. Is there any way to turn those bars off or adjust them so there not covering part of the actual broadcast picture? Please forgive me for not using the correct terms, but I'm not a tv guru.

RCA has received a large number of complaints on this issue. I suggest that you check the update option in the DTC-100 menu. I have read in the press that a patch is forthcoming. (I do see on my DTC-100 that a patch is scheduled for April 2, but I do not know what is in it.) The "light" gray bars were created by RCA to limit their liability to consumers who suffer pixel burn-in. The fix is supposed to give the user the option of whether or not to display the gray bars. I also read that the new DTC-100s contain this fix.

Thanks for the info John. I just looked at my menu and sure enough I'm scheduled for a download in April as well. That's interesting I didn't know that they were capable of that.
