Trying to pick up 3-UHF channels (2-30 miles west, 1-30 miles north). Please help with a cheap outside or inside antenna for a dish network. Hoping to use one antenna and have the ability to point in only one direction. Thanks everybody.

I'm not sure what you mean by cheap, but I picked up the largest standard outdoor antenna from Eagle Hardware for $60 and installed it in my attic. Depending on where you live you should be able find a position to put it in that allows you to get all of your signals. Radio shack has the equivalent for about $110 unless you can find it on sale. Those are the top models of the standard class and they get UHF, VHF & FM. You can get smaller ones for half as much or just a plain UHF for $30. Stay away from the new fancy multidirectional or high tech looking ones as they're expensive and don't work as well.

A not eon antennas. The longer they are the more directioanl tehy are. I needed a fairly long one for VHF but that hurt me on UHF simply because the transmitters are spread out. I finally went with a separte radio shack UHF antenna split off the offending signals from each then combined the UHF from one and VHF from the other.

The result i kept my VHF reception and dramatically improved the UHF.
