Still no sign of WIVB on my end... I get only a VERY low
signal level. But I can get WKBW and WGRZ just fine. Odd.

That's strange. Can you get PBS? I've been able to receive WIVB, WGRZ and WKBW all night. I haven't been able to receive PBS since Saturday afternoon.

WIVB - finally showed up at 66% / Below Normal (lots of bad packets, unwatchable)

That's very interesting. Right around the time WIVB finally showed up for you (early Monday morning) with lots of bad packets, WNED showed up for me in the same way, below normal (30%) and unwatchable.

I would have thought that atmospheric conditions would have affected people in the same geographic area in the same way. But we both suffered a single channel outage at the same time, but different channels. I never would have expected that.

ya when your as far you guys are from the Transmitters, your going to get weird stuff happening like that. It nots affected over here though. I myself have never seen those stations go below 90% in my life, i'm about 20miles from G.I. and 35 from South Buffalo (but with direct path to towers).

The weak Toronto stations, on the other hand, don't come in very well over here. I'm been having trouble with City-dt, and omni1 when it was broadcasting. I can't get Suntv on 66 because the Erie FOX 66 analog is very strong here, (which sucks).

Does anyone know when OMNI 1 and 2 will be broadcasting again. I sent them an email and their response was that they were still in testing mode. They also said that their licence states that they must be up and running by July 2007. Hopefully they will be broadcasting well before then.

I never had any problems with WIVB or any channels this week. (Im in South Ajax close to the lake)
I did notice WNYO is coming in for me this morning at about 50% signal strength on my TV. - did they increase their power, or is this just a favorable weather conditions thing ?

WNYO has defiantly turned up the power , they went from a station that I could get only on the clear nights to a one that is as strong as the Buffalo big boys. (NBC,CBS,ABC.FOX.& the CW)

Hi,
I'm from the east end of hamilton below the escarpment, channelmaster 4228, amplified with 7777, pointed at buffalo, hdtv wonder tuner. I get all the buffalo and grand island stations at approximately 83 signal strength except CBS which fluctuates from between 0 and 30. Shouldn't this be an easier one to get than nbc and abc, both of which play flawlessly at 83 strength? Faulty tuner? I just got a new htpc and started using the hdtv wonder yesterday. Before that, I used the bell 9200 receiver to tune ota, and cbs came in at roughly the same strength (low 60's) as the other buffalo stations, which means they were unreliable at that strength. The hdtv wonder is a far better ota tuner overall than the 9200, except for cbs. Any thoughts? Is cbs just having a couple days of bad signal?

WNYO said last week that if all went well they would be turning up power on Grand Island at the end of this week... looks like that may have happened. I'm getting a 77%/Good signal quality right now 60 miles north of the transmitter.

Yes it is nice to finely get WNYO …but whets up with WIVB?

Last night at the start of CSI no picture, no audio, signal strength 100%

Seems the problem’s started when WNLO went HD

You would think that they would have there act together by now

I lost Fox 29 when they moved the transmitter....so I upgraded to a 8 bay winegard 8800 which is very directional and great in the low numbers...so I figured it would pull fox back in , since I got it sometimes with the 4 bay....but no luck...wnyo is in now as is CBS, NBC, ABC, PBS....but no fox...

I am in oakville right by the lake

Anyone else having trouble with fox today ?

I had thought about that some...if I was not getting WYNO which is a weaker station with less direction north than fox....anyone now if the wyno transmitter is far away from the new WUTV one ?

I don't think the transmitters on Grand Island are more than a mile apart if that.
LET'S GO BUFFALO!!!
