The current issues I'm having seem restricted to CBLT only, the CBLFT, ?, the french one still has no PSIP but the video is rock solid,TVO [are they still sharing?] rock solid and PSIP a-o-k. [since my last post too]

Unfortunately the CBLT issues you are reporting are also being seem here on Grand Island NY. Been going on for at least 2 months now. Makes the hockey games almost unwatchable..

I made it a point to "attempt" to watch the OTA CBC coverage of the NJ-NY hockey game tonight. The picture keeps jumping and skipping. It seems to get (alot) worse during the commercials. Pixalization... etc... Sad. For a network that was at "The Cutting Edge" during the HDTV transition, you sure "pooped the bed".. . Truly sad.. And CBC, before you poo-pa this comment, your stations was so crystal-clear and artifact-free at 1080i. You really crapped the bed recently. Hope someone is home there.. PS: I have video if you need evidence.. PPS: Your news coverage is experiencing the same video issues.. PPPS: "The Healing Continues" commercial came thru OK. All other commercials had issues. This will be the last update.

Bill, I had a theory until I re-read and saw that you had video. For as I once stated before, long ago, my MDP-130s only record one stream at a time. A show I had recorded on Friday was rock steady upon playback. Yet 'live' viewing of CBLT is still riddled with problems. Daniel said that they upped the power at transition last August, yet at its' previous power level CBLT was about the best of any Canadian station there was for Niagara residents. Now I wonder two things. 1. Are they still using repeater stations/towers? 2. Are Niagara, aka Welland to Grand Island residents getting reflections/bounced signals or a conflict/overlap from two sources? Perhaps an attenuator for UHF 20 in our main lines might be the answer? I gotta work weird times this week so i won't be getting to Radio Shack/The Source for a while, maybe someone else could give this a try? BTW, the show was Friday's ep of "Coronation Street". EDIT: Well, at this end its' that old bugaboo multipath, for when I throw it into the 'on the fly' timeshift mode, either 'live' or one second delay, barring signal dropouts, the picture is steady.

Bruce, thanks for the response. I have video taken with a camera aimed at the TV, not from a tivo-type device. Sorry if this created any confusion.
I'm attempting to watch the game tonight on CBLT, but am getting the usual pixelation. Signal strength is about 100% and I'm 45 miles away from the CN tower. Antenna (homemade Hoverman-style) is 25 feet off the ground. No preamp. Audio does not skip when picture pixelates/burps. Other Canadian channels (19.1, 25.1, 41.1, 47.1) do not burp at all.
It is worth noting that live picture (watching Don Cherry on ice right now) burps every 10 seconds or so whereas the standard Hockey Night in Canada opening burped every second. Also, some commercials burp every second whereas some commercials, especially the lower resolution ones, do not burp at all. Not sure if this helps but nothing surprises me anymore.
I tried aiming the antenna in different directions/attenuated signal to no avail.
Well, back to unflavoured NBC coverage.. . sigh

Up here in Richmond Hill, no problem at all with CBLT, can only think of an overload on TV tuner or multipath with a signal of 100%. Is there a possibility of adjacent channel interference?

For the five o'clock news today, it seemed fixed or maybe an anomaly of the weather?

I believe this is somehow related to how they've included the Electronic Program Guide data - the picture seems fixed today but now EIT/ETT is gone. May be just a co-incidence but only CBC knows for sure.
Somehow Global, CTV, CITY, Omni, CTS, TVO all figured this stuff out pretty quickly.

Weird crap.... Sunday night- Mon morn Usually weak CFTO came in at 32%. CIII/Global on UHF 41 went AWOL and is still absent here, though CITY still at 44% . EDIT: CIII came back in time for the 11PM news at 87% strength.

Omni2 (call letters CJMT) is now testing their more powerful UHF channel 40 transmitter from the CN Tower. The existing UHF channel 51 transmitter from 1st Cdn Place will soon be retired.

New Channels:
Has anyone heard or seen a commercial on CHCH 11 as to when they will move to channel 15? My brother said he saw one, but I've yet to see it and I watch waaaaay more CHCH than he does.
Also CKVP-TV 42 Fonthill, a CKVR repeater; is it still slated to sign on this month? Also a Hamilton repeater for CKVR on channel 35 (CHCJ-TV)
The last time I checked CJMT (Channel 40) isn't coming in on channel 69, yet.

@keaster2000: I doubt CHCH has run any notice of change from channel 11 to channel 15 since according to the station manager, nothing will happen until next spring. I'm not sure where the idea that CHCJ & CKVP are going to sign on this month came from; if someone wants a meaninful answer straight from the source, why don't they actually make an effort to contact CTV Two Barrie (wow, what a concept! they even have toll-free phone numbers...) or one of the Bell Media suits mentioned within this. Or, go bang on the door to the Bell Canada central office @ 628 Upper Wentworth Street in Hamilton, where the transmitter will be located. Chances are the temporary Hamilton site won't happen anytime soon since Industry Canada doesn't even have the station listed under a "Code 1" frequency status, yet, although the Fonthill site is on file. Finally, OMNI.2 Toronto turned on their channel 40 CN Tower transmitter about a week ago; it's even mentioned on their homepage; channel 51 (virtual 69) is going to be shut down permanently in a few weeks.
