I have a Hughes D4532 Platinum receiver (digital outputs) and DirectTV service. It is connected to my JVC RX-884 Dolby Digital receiver by an S-Video cable and a coaxial digital cable (no RCA audio connection). Whenever I tune in a channel broadcast in Dolby Digital and then switch back to a non-digital channel, the sound goes "mute" (the JVC receiver does not actually switch to mute mode). In order to get the sound to come back on, I have to switch off the digital setting on my JVC receiver and then switch it back on. Is anyone else having this problem with DirectTV or is the problem with my satellite and/or stereo receiver?

Kevin,

I had a similar problem with my Lexicon DC-2. It was not the fault of DirecTV. I had set the audio default in the Lexion to Dolby Digital. Since the regular DirecTV programming was usually in ProLogic, the audio was muted by the Lexicon. Check your audio default settings in your pre-amp or, lastly, the default switching setting in your JVC.
