I currently have a 18" dish and subscribe to DIRECTTV. I have the RCA 222RD receiver and am considering the eliptical dish and upgrade in receiver.

What are the benefits of the eliptical dish and DIRECT TV PLUS service over the regular dish and DIRECTTV. Also what reveiver should be used with the elipitcal dish for optimum results.

The eliptical dish lets you recieve additional HDTV programming off of a second sattelite. You need an HDTV reciever like the RCA DCT-100 to see this programming. right now there is only one high def pay per view channel and HBO west, but they look better than any of the local HD broadcasts that I have seen. I have also noticed better performance in bad weather with the eliptical dish.

Any Idea what I need? I have direct PC and Direct TV with the wide dish. I assume it is like the eliptical dish. In additon to the HD receiver what else is needed? Just another LNB? will I be able to use the existing dish?
