Directv is far better. Dish network is a distant second, and actually Primestar has been bought out by Directv so I guess I wouldnt even hesitate in answering that. Go with Directv you wont regret it. It has exclusive sports deals. like the NFL, and it also has much more pay per view movies and much more recent also. Happy shopping. Digitalsat.com is where I got mine. I had nice service and I really think it would be impossible to beat their prices. Last time I checked they had a lower model, but still nice RCA for 10 dollars. But they are all cheap. The DD model is something like 70 or 80 dollars. Enjoy your dish.

DISH has a greater selection of non movie channels and ias cheaper both to get in and month to month.In fact you can get it installed for $0. DISH also has a great superstation package (only $3.00 w locals) that brings in UPN &WB stations around the country---totally unavailable on DTV.

DTV has a few more premium movie channels (though this is changing) but has exclusive rights to. NFL, baseball, NHL and NBA.

If sposrts is your thing go DTV otherwise GO DISH

I'll have to agree with Mike. DTV has more, but DISH has better variety.
DISH also seems to have better customer service from what I've heard.
Believe it or not, it was the UPN content that won me over with DISH. I had moved from an area that had UPN to one that didn't - and I had to get Voyager, after all. ;-}
Then when the local cable system dropped Comedy Central, that sealed it.

All in all, I've really enjoyed DISH.

Dish is better. They have a greater satellite capacity. Right now you can watch HDTV signals (the HBO HD channel) with dish network if you have an HDTV. The only other way to even watch these signals is with a 1950s style antenna. I will agree that if you want to watch up to 13 NFL games a week then get Direct TV. Otherwise get Dish Network. Oh and their customer service is the best I've seen in any industry.
