I was wondering if the Sony A50 accepts IR or RF remote commands all the time? I've heard they may only do one or the other depending which mode you are in is this true?
Reason is I would like to use my SL9000 for the main room and the RF sony remote in the bedroom on my second screen. If the Sony can't do it I will probably go with the RCA 4280 which does both at the same time.

There is supposedly a key stroke trick that you can perform on the SAT-A2, A3, and A4. I don't think they are the same as the A50, however. You can find the trick on this board under "features" and then "proprietary remotes". I have an A50 and really enjoy its use of graphics and ease of use. Good luck!

Yes, it could be done on the A2->A4, however I haven't seen any way to do it on the A50 series. Technically it should be possible (the same way it was on previous models) however it seems Sony just didn't implement it.
