I have a Motorola cable box that feeds into my PCs TV tuner card. The cable box has an RS232 port on the back. I have no idea about the workings of a cable box, but am programmer by trade. What I would like to be able to do is control my cable box (channel, volume, etc) from a PC app via the serial port. Is it possible? Where can I find information pertaining to serial input for this device? The following is on the bottom of my cable box: DCT2224/1161/ABCDEG

well, the serial port is for the digital HD video feed... So, it won't work for what you want to do with it.
