I have lost this remote control that relates to the Asus Oplay Mini media player. The media player ONLY operates with the remote control. Model No of remote is Oplay021

Are the remote codes for this product available anywhere?

Can a universal remote controller be coded to work in lieu of this remote?

I have a friend who has the same remote - can I transfer the codes to a learning type remote control?

Can I control this device with my android mobile - no I do not have a IR blaster on this phone

Please help me in this regard. I am a novice at all this - all I know is that my media player is redundant without the remote

Thanks

You didn't mention the model number of your O!Play, but so far as we know, they all use the same codes.

The OARUSB04G will operate the O!Play using setup code Cable 2987.
If it should turn out that your model uses different codes, then this remote will learn from your friend's OEM remote.

It appears that the O!Play units only respond to IR signals, so a smart phone which lacks a blaster isn't going to work.

Thanks a lot 3FG
I did mention the remote control model no above - OPLAY021
The OARUSB04G you mention comes with a pre programmed data base of IR codes and can also learn new ones - is that right?

I have a programmable remote called "DEVIZER" (programmable for 3 devices) that I shall try first before purchasing OARUSB04G

Thanks

Yes, the OARUSB04G does have a rather complete library of built in codes.  Additional codes are downloadable from Simpleset.com using the the USB cable.  Finally, if a custom set of codes is required, we can generate those with the RMIR software and upload those to the remote.  Of course, it can learn from a OEM remote.

I saw that you  listed the remote model number.  But IR signals are characteristic of the unit being controlled and not necessarily the controller.  That's why I wanted to know the model number.

Thanks 3FG

How does one download a set of codes to the remote? Does it have a usb in or something or what?

Also please explain "Finally, if a custom set of codes is required, we can generate those with the RMIR software and upload those to the remote"

If you have time, could you also advice on this remote (it learns codes) that I have thought of buying (it does not have in-built IR codes)

The remote comes with an ordinary USB cable and has a micro USB connector (like most smartphones) in the battery compartment.  You can get complete setups at www.simpleset.com, or one can use software written by the JP1 community to augment the standard setups.  I assumed you are in the USA; if you are elsewhere in the world, it may be easier to get the URC-6440, which is a sister remote that has more Euro-centric IR codes built in.

I don't know anything about the Devizer remote.
