I have an LG 50PK540 tv and would like to program my PS3 remote to it. the ps3 remote has IR as well as bluetooth. my LG tv only has ir. I looked in both company manuals and didn't find any information that could help me. my ps3 remote has the ability to turn my tv on and off as well as change the volume and input along with a lot of other controls. I would just love to use the ps3 remote only when im watching netflix so i don't have to use one remote to adjust the volume while using the other to control the netflix. Can someone please help me figure out how to program it.

Could you clarify the problem?

You say you want to program the PS3 remote to control your TV, but you also say it "has the ability to turn my tv on and off as well as change the volume and input along with a lot of other controls". Do you mean it has that ability now (ie. it is controlling your TV but not the part you want) or do you mean it SHOULD have that ability but it's currently controlling nothing?

I will say in advance that the universal capabilities of the PS3 remote are very limited.

I wish I could help more, but Sony has never posted the user manual for that specific remote online. If it has a code search function I would try that, but my concern is your television simply may not be covered. If it says it covers LG sets, I wouldn't put it past LG to have changed their codes...

If there aren't lg codes listed, try goldstar tv codes.
