As a present i received a Brookstone Pillow remote. I have been able to program My TV, Amp, TV into it and all work fine. I have a Direct TV HR24-500 DVR and none of the supplied codes work nor does the direct cloning of my remote or the auto code find.

Any one have an idea of how to get this remote to work with Direct TV?

TIA
Steve

Any idea if the DirectTV is currently set for RF (can you control the box from a different room other than where the box is located)?

The codes listed under Directv, take of note them and search for those codes under named brands such as RCA, Sony, Hughes, Tivo, and philips in the Brookstone SAT code listing. Cross those out, are there any codes not listed as where? The codeset used by Directv currently was NEVER used by any other brand of SAT receiver.

so, is there a code that works for this remote, specifically for a Direct
TV sat receiver. My father in law got this for christmas today, and I got it to work his SHARP aquos tv with no issues, but cannot get it to work with his
Direct TV SAT receiver. I manually tried all codes listed in the Brookstone book for Direct TV sat, and let it run through the auto find with no luck....

Thanks...

The Current remotes is set to IR. None of the codes listed work. It does have a learning mode which I can use my durrent remote to clone the code in the Brookstone. That does not work. and I also tried the auto find and had no luck. The other brands of Direct TV boxes have been made for years starting with the HR20 series and nothing works.

I called Brookstone and they promised to do research. Left me a message to call my local Direct TV office and get the code. They are morons and have no idea about there products. The sell what China sends them. I do not think it is a code problem but, a problem with the Brookstone product. It will never work a Direct Tv box.

It's a novelty device. If the supplied codes, and/or code search do not work, it's unlikely there is a code. Sorry.
