Hi guys,

I'm hoping someone here is able to help me, I'm on the verge of giving up and returning the remote to the retailers.

On the weekend I bought a SRC-3000 remote (rebranded as a Dick Smith remote but its the same as the sunwave one) and have set it up for my TV and VCR.

My stereo is causing issues, I've tried all the codes listed for the manufacturer and tried the auto search for each of the different devices, and haven't been able to get a response from the stereo for anything. Also the original remote has been lost so I can't learn from it.

The stereo is a technics system, Amp model is sa-dv170 and cd/dvd player component has a model is sl-dv170.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get this working? Alternatively if there is a file for a jp1 type remote I can load that onto my other remote control and learn from there.

Finally,as a side question, is it possible to use a computer to repogram these remotes, similar to the JP1 remotes?

Try the panasonic codes as well.

No luck with the panasonic codes however I've made some progress elsewhere.

I've used my original JP1 compatible remote (URC-4160-b0,similar to the 7560-b0) and found some setup codes that cause some response for the tuner/amp module:
0331 Volume
0541 Power
0786 Power+channel selection(number pad)

Can anyone explain how I can use these to identify the protocol/Device ID/EFC details for the functions that work?

I'll develop a layout in remote master, save it to my old remote and then learn them on my new remote.

Did you try this upgrade file for your JP1 remote?

It seems to have matching codes for at least the ones you have identified as working. Perhaps the other functions from there will work as well.

BTW, it sounds like you are connecting the URC-4160 with a JP1 cable, but I haven't seen an RDF file for that remote. How are you connecting to the remote?

Thanks, thats got me a bit further along.

Now I've got 1 code for power, volume, keypad and track +/-, probably more I haven't found. I'll play around more tonight and see what I can work out tonight.

For the URC-4160, I've been using a jp1 cable and the URC-7560 rdf file without major issues.
