I have one of these relics too and need the same
info. Actually, I mainly need the reset instructions
since the remote seems to be full.

The GE help line told me to remove the batteries
and hold 1 for 60 seconds. That didn't work.

I also tried the same with the reset pin hole near
the battery compartment with no luck.

I can buy a manual for $20 with shipping, but it
doesn't seem worth it.

Can anyone help?

Did you ever find out how to reset the GE RRC600? I find the reset button, but pushing it does nothing.

Also, what was the source for the Owner's Manual that you mentioned? I might like to order one; if so, I'll try to help you in return.

Thanks,

Gaston

You can only reset one source(device) at a time. Heres how

1.side switch to learn.

2.select source

3.press enter

4.remove battery cover

5.insert the point of a pen,and hold for a couple of seconds.

Now do this for other 3 sources.

Theres a guy on ebay selling this remote, comes brand new in a box, for only $10. He goes under the name REPAIRDEPT.

Obviously I'm late on this (I only joined the forum when I got my MX-700). But I just wanted to "brag" that I, too, have one of these, and it's still working. I remember buying it because, simply, there wasn't anything else like it, and it served me well for years.

While I'm bragging I have an original CORE too. I bought one, it died, and since I was traveling to the Bay Area I called them up and went over to get a new one. I remember it was, to be frank, a very "simple" office, literally with a piece of paper with "CORE" written on it stuck to the door. The guy at the desk when I came in remembered my call, and reached into his drawer and pulled out a new CORE, and I handed him my own. I was hoping to see Wozniak, but...

Yeah, I did. That's what prompted me to write. I didn't realize until reading this how "state of the art" this remote was. I just knew that, at the time, it offered more than the other available remotes I saw.

I'm still partial to the CORE, however. With it's 20 buttons and "pages" for functions, I could operate it in total darkness based on feel, and motor memory. (It could overwrite it's own memory on demand, reprogramming buttons as needed. So, you could (and I did) set it up so pushing "Power" (actually, the button you designated for "Power," it was all in Hex) would turn a device on, and reprogram the button to "Null," and reprogram another button to then send the Power signal. It was handy because you could push one side of the rocker switches to turn a unit on, and the other for off, and the buttons would stay in sync. This was before discrete codes, of course).

Sorry, just musing down memory lane... It'd be great to see a review of it here, like the GE review.
