I just installed my HR10-250 HD Tivo from Directv. I would like a universal remote that can control all the components of my system, with macros, and control the tivo-specific functions. I know that most remotes that have shuttle controls for a VCR or DVD can probably be programmed to control a Tivo as well, but I'd really like a remote that's designed specifically for the controlling Tivos.
Also, I have a Mitsubishi RPTV with Net Command. I need this remote to be capable of using the discrete codes for Device setting. I'm not sure if that means I have to have a PC-programmable remote, or just a learning remote.
Thanks.

If you want Tivo specific buttons, go with the "One For All" URC-6131 (it even has the thumbs up/down buttons). However, in order to be able to program macros on it, you'll need to use JP1. The store bought version of the 6131 is not JP1 compatible (because it's missing some parts), but I have some modified 6131s available that are JP1 compatible and I have the JP1 cables that you would need to program it from your PC. Total price shipped is $42.
