Is there a way to extract a remote code from a working remote? The remote in question is a RCA model D770.

All the RCA remotes I had you could blink back the code. You press the Codesearch key, then Device key, then the Codesearch key again. Now go cycle through the 0-9 keys, one light blinks that's the first digit, continue through the # keys until you have had three blinks representing the 3 digits.

The RCA remote I have does not have a Codesearch key and the codes that it uses is 4 digits instead of 3. The instructions that came with my remote states to program a button: Press and hold the button you want to program, enter the 4 digit code, release the button and press the on/off button to see if works. I am trying to find the code to operate my RCA RCS7000N digital video recorder. It works with the DVD button on the remote but I need the code to enter into my RCA DSS Receiver. Thanks for any information/help.
