I have an old RCA VCR (not sure the model number), and I used auto code search for the RCA VCR, and it accepted the code 0166. I have a KOSS KD260 DVD player and there is no code listed, but it works with RCA DVD code 0539. The only problem is that for both of these units, the remote will not turn them on. It controls everything else, inlcuding off. Any suggestions as to what the problem might be?? Is it a defect?
