I have a fairly old Kenwood HT that I'm hoping to control via new RF/learning remote. The other 'non-standard' component I have to deal with is my DirecTivo DVR.

I was almost ready to hit the 'Buy' button on a One For All URC-9910 when I came across this entry in another thread here.

Yes, some Kenwood equipment does use a 455KHz
frequency which is out of the learning range of
most remotes.

What remotes have you tried it with?

Am I looking at the same problem with my 1080? Is there a class of remotes that will 1) give me RF out of the box? 2) control DirecTivo? 3) control the 1080?

many thx
